Moorpanyal Park

North Shore is a bayside Geelong suburb which has a waterfront with views of Geelong and Corio Bay. The Moorpanyal Park 1000 Swim was founded at the dawn of the new century. Beginning with just 14 swimmers in 2000, the swim now attracts more than 150 competitors. Gradually the swim has grown and tradition with it: swimmers keep turning up, supporters prepare tea and coffee and cook sausages for participants, friends and family. Nobody goes hungry and it’s 100% free. Community businesses support the swim and make it financially viable. This is Australia’s biggest free open water swim: a journey to remember. It is a community friendly favourite.
