For those who really love their long beach walks - be it solo, couples or groups - Bay of Fires is a must experience. All 40 beaches (some small, some sweeping) are easily accessible, relatively undeveloped, with several basic, but beautiful campsites. This sublime coastal stretch fuses radiant white sands with clear aqua waters dotted with many large orange lichen granite forms, giving it a surreal feel. Expect to find a spot all to yourself to indulge the senses. British navigator Tobias Furneaux, saw many aboriginal fires in the wide bay of Tasmania's most easterly point of land. For coastal walkers, you can't beat Humbug Point for starters, with circuits and walks ranging from 45 mins to 7 hours. Suggest packing supplies on nearby St Helens. Well placed at No. 7 for 2018.
