Seal Rocks, just a few hours north of Sydney is another of those quiet iconic gems that through protracted protests to preserve its natural coastal character – remains today a blissful coastal idyll; beach escape. All four main beach settings (two sheltered, two exposed) enjoy a classic laid-back Aussie feel, encircled by National Park. The Treachery free-form campground is partly situated in a drained, yet moonlight dreamy, paper-bark swamp, a tent/minivan experience that won't cost the earth. Some swankier options are emerging. The walking trail into the 1875 lighthouse affords one of the most epic dwelling deals on platforms on Australia's east coast.
